Position Summary: The Chief Learning Officer (CLO) will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for developing and executing the organization’s learning and development strategy. This role is vital in ensuring that our educational initiatives and community engagement efforts are aligned with our mission to drive change through innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
    • Provide visionary leadership in creating innovative educational programs and initiatives that foster community engagement and development.
    • Collaborate with the executive team to integrate learning and development into the broader organizational strategy.
  2. Partnership Development:
    • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with university departments, faculty members, and community organizations.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration on educational projects and community initiatives.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and educational partners.
  3. Program Management:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and community engagement activities.
    • Ensure programs are effectively addressing community needs and achieving desired outcomes.
    • Utilize data and feedback to continuously improve program offerings.
  4. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of education focused individuals and drive community engagement events.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the organization.
    • Ensure team members have the resources and support needed to succeed.
  5. Community Engagement:
    • Actively engage with community members to understand their needs and priorities.
    • Develop and promote initiatives that enhance community involvement and support local development.
    • Represent the organization at community events, forums, and meetings.
  6. Resource Management:
    • Manage the learning and development budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships, to support educational initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards with both the university and national headquarters.

Qualifications:

  • Desire to master executive leadership experience in a leadership, think tank, educational organization, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of leadership principles, coaching, and organizational development.
  • Experience and relative success in fundraising, resource development, and financial management.
  • Exceptional communication and public-speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • A commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
  • Passion for driving positive change and making a meaningful impact in the community.
  • Pursuing a undergraduate degree at ESU, education major preferred.
